Prelude's Community Comes Together to Donate Their Coats to Children In Need

As you may know, us Houstonians are not particularly familiar with cold. We rarely see snow and when we do we don't quite know what to do with it. So when it reached below zero here in Houston and snowed for the first time in years, we were excited. Snow day! I personally built a snowman 4 inches tall. Now that's an accomplishment.

After the snow had thawed, Emily, one of our amazing teachers, went to Shearn Elementary as she usually does each week. Snugly wrapped in her favorite scarf and enveloped in the biggest, fluffiest coat she could find, she walked into the front office to sign in for her day of teaching.

Dear friends, One of the schools we serve is in need of coats for children ages 3 to 11 (Pre-K to 5th grade). Would you be willing to look in your closets and see if you may share a coat? Please let us know if you have a coat to spare, and we can either pick it up from you or you may bring it to Prelude Music Classes. Children are cold! Thank you!

We have already made two deliveries today of jackets for children at one of the schools we serve. We hope to make more before the day is done!! Thank you to everyone for your kindness and support!Thank you to the amazing community that supports Prelude Music Classes, our friends from St. Catherine's Montessori and countless others who rose to the Foundations call and donated jackets, boots, shoes, scarves and hats to the children at one of our schools in need. With your generosity we have provided over 75 items to be given to the children! Thank you so much!!
