Our Response to COVID-19
When COVID-19 forced the schools to shut down, our amazing team switched gears and not only began delivering but perfected and excelled in bringing our program to the communities we serve. We could not be more proud of our work.
Music supports all learning, fosters connection, and promotes positive parent-child interactions. Our teachers have been able to engage and stimulate the students, bringing joy and connection into their homes and classrooms even when streaming-in virtually. During this difficult time, it is more important than ever to have music in the home and in the students' daily lives.
Although forced to move to an online format, the Prelude Music Foundation otherwise met or exceeded all of our goals since the onset of the COVID-19 Pandemic. We continued to bring music classes to the schools we serve and the children at Casa de Esperanza de Los Niños on a weekly basis. By adapting our classes to fit a virtual platform, we streamed joyful music-making directly into the students' homes and classrooms.
We continued supporting family education and engagement and the professional development of teachers and launched an online portal to continually serve the Collaborative mentors and classroom teachers. The Teacher Portal houses various resources, including articles, videos, classes, and tutorials.
Like organizations everywhere, we were forced to adapt and change how we interacted with each other and delivered our program to the children we serve. What did not change is our dedication to and passion for our work.
